Evidence-Based Therapy for Anxiety, OCD, Trauma, and Intense Emotions
How Can I Help
Whether you’re feeling stuck in patterns of worry, avoidance, intrusive thoughts, or overwhelming emotions, treatment can help you move toward the life you want.
I provide personalized, evidence-based therapy for adolescents and adults experiencing anxiety, OCD, trauma, and intense emotions.
Therapy offered in Green Bay, Door County, and throughout Wisconsin via telehealth.
Anxiety
Chronic worry, panic, social avoidance, and perfectionism can be overwhelming. Anxiety leads to avoidance and prevents people from fully engaging in life. Therapy can help break those patterns and teach people to overcome uncertainty.
Specialized treatment: CBT, Exposure therapy
OCD
Living in the cycle of OCD means feeling trapped in compulsive behaviors and intrusive thoughts. Compulsions keep people stuck in OCD because they provide temporary relief. Therapy helps people respond differently and gain control.
Specialized treatment: Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP)
Trauma and PTSD
PTSD can cause people to re-experience traumatic events long after the danger has ended. Strong emotions (guilt, fear, shame, anxiety) and negative beliefs lead to avoidances that interfere in daily life. Therapy helps people process the experiences and return to a quality life.
Specialized treatment: Prolonged Exposure and DBT-PE
Emotion Regulation
Intense emotions can affect communication, relationships, ability to tolerate stress, and loss of control. Therapy can teach skills to respond more effectively and feel more confident in coping with life’s challenges.
Specialized treatment: Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT)
Evidence-Based Treatments Offered

Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) for anxiety
CBT teaches a variety of tools to change unhelpful thoughts and behaviors.

Prolonged Exposure (PE) for trauma
PE involves exposure to trauma related memories and avoided situations.

Exposure Response Prevention (ERP) for OCD
ERP includes approaching anxious situations (exposures) without engaging in compulsions (response prevention).

Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) Skills
DBT builds skills to manage emotions, handle stress, improve relationships, and increase mindfulness.

Behavioral Activation (BA) for mood
BA focuses on engaging in joyful activities and building healthy routines.
A Thoughtful, Personalized Approach

Comprehensive Assessment

Experience and Expertise

Compassionate Care
Thorough assessment helps clarify your concerns, identify treatment goals, and ensure that therapy is focused on what will be most helpful. We will work collaboratively to understand patterns, identify what may be keeping you stuck, and develop new ways of coping. Outcome measurements are completed upon intake and used to measure progress throughout treatment.
I am committed to ongoing training, consultation, and providing treatment that stays grounded in the latest research. Therapy is delivered in a flexible and individualized manner.
Creating a supportive, compassionate, and collaborative environment is my priority.

Insurance

Wise Mind Counseling is an out of network for any other insurances not listed as in network. Out of network means clients pay fees out of pocket. Payments are due at the time of service. Clients must use a card on file.
If you have out of network benefits, speak directly with your insurance company. This ensures you understand your plan. It is possible that counseling fees are reimbursed from the insurance company at the out of network rate. Alternatively, fees could be applied toward the out of network deductible.
Wise Mind Counseling does not work with insurance companies on behalf of clients related to out of network benefits. Clients are responsible for submitting their proof of payment, called a superbill, to insurance companies. This is necessary to access their out of network benefits. A superbill can be accessed through the client portal.
Medicaid and Medicare: Wise Mind Counseling is out of network for Medicaid and Medicare plans. Only United Healthcare Medicaid is accepted. Medicaid and Medicare will only reimburse for in-network services. A Medicare client can pay bypass in network services and pay privately at Wise Mind Counseling. Private pay is not accepted for those with Medicaid.
